Welcome to the Greater Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, Inc. web site. I would like to invite you to visit us often as this site will continue to develop just as the Chamber itself will.
I see Allegany County as virtually a large corporation striving to grow and prosper. The problem is all the different departments are under-informed of what the other is doing. Our large corporate businesses, our plentiful small businesses, educational institutions, civic organizations, government and others want to help each other but need a vehicle to help them do that. This seems to be a very important role for the chamber to attempt to fill.
After six months the chamber seems to have its feet firmly planted on the ground. We have a web site, an e-mail address and a phone number. We are a registered corporation in the State of NY. We have a new office in the Crossroads Center which is the new center for business support and economic development in our county. But most importantly we have a great group of creative and devoted people working hard to get our organization up and running and to fulfill those needs that we have identified. And in the end that is really what a Chamber of Commerce is all about.
